Position Summary...

What you'll do...

Walmart Health & Wellness's mission to help people live better by delivering best-in-class healthcare. The Pharmacy Inventory Team which is part of Walmart's Global Tech is responsible for end to end Inventory with-in the Pharmacies and building the next-gen securable, scalable, automated and compliant pharmacy inventory management system using event driven architecture.

What you'll do

  • Translating requirements into solutions, writing code, collaborating with cross-functional teams, managing small to large-sized complex projects and come up with high level designs.

  • Assists in providing guidance to small groups of two to three engineers, including offshore associates, for assigned Engineering projects.

  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).

  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.

  • Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.

  • Provide Operational support for the business and production issues and help business & Product teams on data analysis on business solutions implemented.

  • Drives solutions that proactively monitor and alert teams to potential issues before they cause impact to business systems.

  • Participates in the Operational Excellence process to uncover root cause of impacting issue, ensure all issues within the team's focus areas are properly resolved, and changes to processes, systems, coding, or testing are implemented to ensure the same issues do not occur in the future.

You'll sweep us off our feet if you have:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of JAVA, Spring, Sprint boot as well as Agile methodologies.

  • Strong experience in RESTful Microservices and developing applications using Java version 8 or later.

  • Strong API design, development, and management experience.

  • Hands-on experience with DevOps tools, CI/CD Pipelines, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker.

  • Software performance optimization experience (container sizing, memory usage, CPU, scaling, etc)

  • Experience with third-party libraries, APIs and other open source technologies.

  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and writing complex queries as per the business requirements.

  • Experience working with event-driven architecture and Kafka messaging.

  • Familiar with public cloud technologies in Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform.

You'll make an impact by having:

  • Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor of Science and 5 years' relate experience in software engineering OR Master of Science

  • 3+ years of software development (Java is preferable)

  • Solid skills in java stack (Springboot, Maven, JaxRs, Hibernate)

  • Strong experience within the Cloud using Azure/GCP/AWS

  • Experience with using Linux command line tools

  • Experience using source control systems (git)

  • Experience with working with CI/CD (Jenkins/Travis)

  • Experience with working with cloud deployments (scaling, resiliency, load balancing etc)

  • Experience leading 3-4 junior engineers from a technical delivery standpoint

  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (MSSQL, Cassandra, Cosmos)

  • Experience working with message stream systems (Kafka)

  • Experience working in agile environment (Scrum, daily standups etc)

  • Experience with being a core contributor to a software project: understanding domain and business requirements, being responsible for critical parts of the application

  • Experience working with logging and application monitoring stack: Splunk, Grafana, Dynatrace

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in computer science or related field.

  • Provides support to the business by responding to user questions, concerns, and issues (for example, technical feasibility, implementation strategies); researching and identifying needed solutions; determining implementation designs; providing guidance regarding implications of new and enhanced systems; identifying short and long term solutions; and directing users to appropriate contacts for issues outside of associate's domain.

  • Manages small to large-sized complex projects by reviewing project requirements; translating requirements into technical solutions; researching and identifying alternative solutions; determining needed solution based on return on investment and value add to the business; gathering requested information (for example, design documents, product requirements, wire frames); writing and developing code; conducting unit testing; communicating status and issues to team members and stakeholders; collaborating with project team and cross functional teams; identifying areas of opportunity; interpreting information and identifying a solution; ensuring solution is sustainable across implementation and use; troubleshooting open issues and bug-fixes; and ensuring on-time delivery and hand-offs.

  • Troubleshoots business and production issues by gathering information (for example, issue, impact, criticality, possible root cause); performing root cause analysis to reduce future issues; engaging support teams to assist in the resolution of issues; developing solutions; driving the development of an action plan; performing actions as designated in the plan; interpreting the results to determine further action; and completing online documentation.

  • Participates in the discovery phase of small to medium-sized projects to come up with high level design by partnering with the product management, project management, business, and user experience teams.

  • Assists in providing guidance to small groups of two to three engineers, including offshore associates, for assigned Engineering projects by proving pertinent documents, directions, examples, and timeline.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
