What you'll do...

A Systems Engineer III with demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales. Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities. Models' compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and implementation of business plans; using the Open Door Policy; and demonstrating and assisting others with how to apply these in executing business processes and practices.

What you'll do:

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our Vision - Optometry Team. As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure and related service offerings that supports Walmart's critical systems hosted mainly Stores. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the availability, performance, and scalability of our resources and services. This role requires a strong understanding of Window OS, networking, system architecture, virtualization technologies, and a passion for optimizing and automating processes.

What you'll bring:

• Strong experience in system engineering, with a deep understanding of user infrastructure design principles, patterns, and best practices.

• Excellent oral and written communications skills

• Understands Agile methodology principles and applying within a Scrum team.

• Ability to collaborate with other software and system engineers on the team.

• Solid understanding of microservice-based architecture and development of RESTful services

• Experience with responsive web design, cross-browser compatibility, and performance optimization

• 1 - 3 years of experience using cloud platforms (i.e., Microsoft Azure) for application deployment and hosting

• Experience working on systems/applications supporting the healthcare industry or any other where encryption of data is required.

• 2 - 4 years' experience with design/architecture of complex systems supporting healthcare applications

• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize compute resources for maximum efficiency.

• Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and configuration management processes.

• Perform regular system maintenance tasks, including patching, firmware upgrades, and security vulnerability assessments and remediation.

• Develop and maintain system documentation, including standard operating procedures, configuration guides, and best practices.

• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends related to compute infrastructure and provide recommendations for improvement.

• Ensure production servers and services are highly available 24/7 and participate in on-call support rotation as and when required.

• Mentor new team members and assist with knowledge transfer requirements.

• Contributes to an environment that promotes and reinforces the highest standards of integrity and ethics.

• Demonstrates creativity and strength in the face of change, obstacles, or adversity.

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00-$155,000.00
