Position Overview:

The position provides direct and indirect patient care to clinic patients and their families utilizing the nursing processes of comprehensive patient assessment, development and implementation of nursing care plans and patient education, and ongoing evaluation. Delivers holistic and individualized care to all patients in assigned area. Develops, implements, coordinates an optimal interdisciplinary plan of care that incorporates psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and life-style factors. Fosters and maintains collaborative relationships between patients, their family/support group, physicians, and other healthcare providers through timely and effective communications. Adheres to polices, industry standards, best practices, and applicable laws/regulations and codes to promote a quality, highly reliable patient experience. Engages in continuous growth and development in professional nursing practice.

Performs all the duties of the lower levels. In addition meets specific affiliate or collective bargaining agreement requirements outlined for this level.

Job Description :

EDUCATION

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

BSN Preferred

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE

RN-Registered Nurse of California

BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider

Apheresis QIA Certification – Preferred.

EXPERIENCE

Experience as charge nurse or supervisory role in a clinical heath care setting is preferred. Familiarity with agency and regulatory compliance standards in acute healthcare setting and in Apheresis required. 2 years’ experience in nursing preferred, 1 year in Apheresis required. Experience in survey protocols on an organizational level (Joint Commission, State, etc) required. Strong interpersonal skills, conflict resolutions and delegation required. Ability to work in a self-motivated, independent capacity is essential. Familiarity with critical thinking, characteristics of the adult learner, adult education principles, learning styles and teaching methods required.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise staff.

Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrated competency in fundamentals of nursing and oncology are required.

Knowledge of regulatory requirements (i.e. JCAHO) appropriate for position.

Effective communication, leadership and customer service skills as demonstrated by: ability to articulate well; consistently applying critical thinking skills; facilitating conflict resolution; adaptable and flexible to a variety of situations.

Ability to plan, lead, organize and promote a team approach and spirit of continuous performance improvement.

Ability to perform the functions of the registered nurse as well as charge nurse as required. Assist the clinical staff with patient care as directed by the Nurse Supervisor.

Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people including hospital staff (employees and colleagues), physicians, patients, community members and outside agencies.

Computer skills

Effective problem solving and communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to concentrate on multiple and varied tasks.

Demonstrated ability to work independently.

Strong prioritization and organizational skills.

Must have excellent customer service skills.

Pay Range is $87.10 to $114.96 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
