Back Office Medical Assistant

Description:

work in primary care office, assigned to one doctor primarily to room patients and prep charting

Medical assistant supporting back office functions

intakes for patients and room loader

vital checks

med reconciliation

prepare charts prior to patient visits

prep orthopedic injections for doctor to administer

prepare patient rooms

complete prior authorizations

restock rooms and supply closets, complete inventory

triage phones for any physician or patient questions

update patient records

update electronic medical record - Athena

Prep days will be spent prepping patient charts, files for EMR, loading rooms for other physicians as needed, updating disability and FMLA forms, cleaning rooms and stocking rooms, taking inventory, etc.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

1 year of medical assistant experience in primary care office not specialty

Certified Medical Assistant or CMA

EMR experience (prefer Athena, open to other experience)
