MILACRON PLASTICS TECHNOLOGIES GROUP LLC Materials Manager in Bethel, Ohio

Shift 1 (United States of America) The Materials Manager is responsible for managing and leading all of the Materials Management activities of personnel engaged in shipping/receiving, warehouse management, inventory & production control, materials scheduling, capacity planning, configuration control, and the procurement of components and supplies. In addition, this position is also responsible for the identification, development, and implementation of continuous improvement projects within the Materials Management group to maintain an effective Materials Team. Work You'll Do: Collects and analyzes customer requirements to optimize inventory levels as a part of the Sales and Operations Planning process. Procures component parts and raw materials to meet shipment schedules and minimize transportation costs. Develops effective relationships with the supply base and launches purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of material. Manages both raw and WIP inventory levels and identifies opportunities to increase turns. Organizes the receiving of all materials and movement within the facility. Directs the internal warehouse operations to ensure timely delivery of material kits to the assembly groups. Leads the product configuration team to structure BOM's to support an engineer to order production system. Works closely with the Purchasing Team to minimize inventory stocking levels and maximize material cost savings. Leads Kaizen activities and conducts root cause problem solving to drive continuous improvement in the operation. Directs the ongoing recruitment, development, and training of personnel to create a world class Materials Staff. Carries out executive level leadership responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies and procedures. Team: The Materials Manager is a part of the Plant Site Leadership Team and will assist other Department Managers in the management of the facility. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in logistics, supply chain, or engineering. 10+ years' experience working in logistics, materials management, warehousing and distribution, or supply chain management. Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment. Skillful in planning and analyzing the requirements of the production department. Well-versed with the traditional as well as advanced methods used in inventory control. Preferred Qualifications: APICS Certification or advanced degree preferred. Extensive experience with ERP systems. JD Edwards a plus. Experience with Lean Manufacturing and internal plant supply chain processes. Should have good negotiating, verbal, and written communication skills.
