Lockheed Martin Tax Accountant Sr in Bethesda, Maryland

Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented professional to join our Corporate Tax Department within the Enterprise Operations business at Lockheed Martin. As a tax accounting and compliance specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting our income tax accounting and compliance efforts and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of tax filings and forecasts. This role is a hybrid position in Bethesda, MD.

What You Will Be Doing

The Senior Tax Accountant will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to income tax compliance.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Filing estimated payments, extensions, and tax returns, as well as preparing tax forecasts and provisions.

• Handling compliance functions, such as the preparation of Federal and State Corporate income and franchise tax returns along with some partnership returns.

• Developing and maintaining critical relationships between Tax and Business Units to ensure tax has a well-informed view of the business operations.

• Coordinating closely with other Department members and Business Unit contacts to ensure timely and accurate preparation of quarterly and annual tax provision and related disclosures.

Basic Qualifications:

- 4 years experience working with income tax laws and procedures.

- 4 years experience working preparing federal and state C Corporation income tax returns.

- Ability to perform moderately complex tax research and correctly interpret tax law.

- Proficiency w/Microsoft Office Applications especially Excel and Word (features include: VLookup, Pivot Tables, Formulas, Multiple Worksheets, Tables, Templates, etc.)

- High level of accuracy, attention to details and ability to work with a team and independently with little guidance.

-Effective verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with peers, customers, and managers.

Desired Skills:

- CPA and/or Masters Degree in Tax, Accounting, or related discipline

- 3+ years experience with a Big Four or large public accounting firm

- Familiarity with ASC 740 and SARBOX

- Familiarity with Thomson Reuters OneSource and CorpTax

- Familiarity with AI, Alteryx and/or dashboards

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $71,000 - $136,000. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
