System One IT Project Manager (Infrastructure/Construction) in Bethesda, North Carolina

IT Project Manager (Construction/Infrastructure)

6 month contract to permanent position| Must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident

Must be able to obtain a Public Trust | Fully On-Site in Bethesda, MD

*Must have BISCI RCDD certification *

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the installation and implementation of IT infrastructure and equipment for multiple multi-year, multi-phase and multi-IC CIF funded construction and renovation projects.

  • Manage the installation and implementation of IT infrastructure and equipment for multiple multi-year, multi-phase funded construction and renovation projects.

  • Review architectural and MEP design drawings to ensure all IT infrastructure and requirements are captured for large-scale construction and renovation projects.

  • Manage ISP & OSP cabling & infrastructure upgrades.

  • Manage the multi-phase OSP Infrastructure Modernization Project migrations for LAN/WAN on the client campus and data center for multiple clients .

  • Provide IT SME input for MOU, POR & BOD documentation to support new client lease agreements for large, multi-year projects involving long term lease agreements.

  • Serve as a SME for the client cabling standards documents.

  • Prepare schedules, project plans, risk assessment and lessons learned documents.

  • Prepare ROM, SOW, RFP, MOP, BOM and RTM documents for large-scale projects.

  • Monitor and track budgets for long term IT projects.

  • Translate IT requirements into project deliverables.

  • Coordinate multiple network activations for Enterprise, Wireless, Facilities, VoIP, Security & Audio-Visual networks.

  • Manage new and ongoing large-scale data center construction.

  • Coordinate all project activities with multiple vendors and government personnel.

  • Gather, document, and track changes to customer requirements throughout the lifecycle of each project.

  • Evaluate problems analytically and systematically and develop appropriate corrective action.

  • Implement mitigation plans, then escalate risks and issues to leadership, as appropriate.

  • Support multiple project implementations and ensure that project deliverables are within budget, scope and schedule.

  • Effectively communicate project expectations and status on an ongoing basis to team members and stakeholders.

    Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years of experience working as a team or task leader in a related area.

  • BISCI RCDD (Registered Communication Distribution Designer) certification.

  • Ten+ years’ experience in working in a campus environment.

  • Inside and Outside Plant experience required.

  • Hospital/Lab environment experience preferred.

  • Ability to work independently, with little or no oversight.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communications required.
