Reference #: 1279279 Miller-Keystone Blood Center has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to work in our regionally renowned Blood Bank. We are an independent, not-for-profit, community-based organization that serves as the only Immunohematology Reference Laboratory provider to service our regional hospitals including 8 counties in Eastern PA Schuylkill (PA), and Hunterdon and Warren counties in NJ. Responsibilities: Perform routine through complex red cell antibody identification and resolution, antigen typing, hemoglobin S testing and procurement of special and rare units, platelet antibody screening and cross-matching. Provide written reports and verbal consultation and transfusion recommendations to our hospitals. Responsible for quality control, equipment maintenance, training, equipment, and assay evaluation and validation. Required to have the ability to multi-task, work independently and operate office and telecommunication equipment. Hours: 10am-6pm (hours can be flexible/negotiable) 3 days a week. Limited weekends and holidays, as needed. Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree in clinical, biological, physical and/or chemical laboratory science.
