Job Description:

Radiology Manager

Beverly and Addison Gilbert Hospitals

Position Summary:

The Radiology manager directs and oversees the day to day operations of the Beverly Hospital Radiology departments and the CT and Nuclear Medicine areas at Lahey Outpatient Center Danvers, Beverly and Addison Gilbert Hospitals including customer service, quality assurance, performance improvement, personnel management, productivity optimization and fiscal responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

Ensures appropriate and efficient staffing including hiring, counseling and evaluation of employees.

Develops, recommends and implements changes to policies and procedures in conjunction with Hospital, State, Federal and Joint Commission and ACR guidelines and in collaboration with Administrative Director and Chief of Radiology.

Conducts regular staff meetings and daily rounds to promote consistent communication.

Provides oversight of the Radiologic Technologist student program.

Ability to develop and maintain positive and collaborative working relationships to ensure a positive work environment.

Attends Hospital meetings as required and participates on committees.

Establishes, develops measures and reports on performance improvement and QC initiatives.

Reviews Press Ganey results, shares with staff and looks for improvement opportunities.

Monitors staff and patient schedules to ensuring appropriate staffing levels and efficiency.

Processes payroll in Kronos.

Monitors and runs various reports to measure and improve performance.

Responsible for developing and monitoring budgets including analysis of monthly financials, productivity and FTE reports, monthly variance reporting and takes proactive initiative to meet budgeted targets.

Keeps Administrative Director informed of activity, operational problems/concerns.

Maintains and ensures hospital safety guidelines are followed.

Demonstrates initiative and timely follow through on all work assignments.

Researches and advises on existing and new technologies.

Develops business plans for equipment replacement and works with key staff from Clinical Engineering, Facilities and Imaging Informatics.

Obtains ACR accreditation and re-accreditation for various modalities.

Works on special projects as assigned.

Education/Experience:

Bachelors degree in business, health care administration or similar is strongly desired. Must possess a valid Massachusetts Department of Public Health Radiation control license or be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Excellent communications and interpersonal skills. Knowledge and proficiency in computer operations and hospital information technology applications – spreadsheets, powerpoint, electronic medical records, HR, contract and finance management systems, etc. Minimum of three years of supervisory experience in hospital or health care setting is required. Strong knowledge of radiology department operations, salary and supply budgets, and radiology regulations.
