Position Summary
Work as part of the Facilities team performing work assignments as directed by the Operations Manager and Facilities Supervisor. Note: due to the variety of camp programs in session, you may be asked to assist in other duties not directly listed in this job description. This is necessary for the smooth operation of camp.
Essential Functions
Report to Operations Manager or Facilities Supervisor for daily assignments
Receive work orders, and complete tasks to Pine Summit standards
Estimates material requirements and tools needed to perform job
Help maintain shop in a an organized and clean manner
Perform preventative and emergency repairs as assigned by Operations Manager or Facilities Supervisor
Finish work and touch-up
Snow removal and plow
Fuel reduction: clean up pine needles and brush, taking pictures before and after
Landscape and hardscape including but not limited to mulch designated areas, water ornamental plants, maintain proper water flow, clean rocks and debris from walkways, trails and synthetic field. Secure edging around synthetic field raise level of dirt to pavement level
Assist with loading or unloading trucks and moving furniture where needed
Maintain tools and maintenance equipment in working order
Change light bulbs and replace fixtures as assigned inside and outside
Open clogged rains, fix leaks, and perform other simple plumbing job
Touch-up painting and repaint rooms as needed
Clean debris from roofs and gutter
Perform emergency repairs as assigned
Provide prompt and polite service internally and externally
Oil and grease equipment
Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis
Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs frequently in carrying out duties
Sufficient manual dexterity to operate tools and machinery
Sufficient physical agility to work from ladders or on a roof if necessary
Requires working inside and outside in all weather conditions.
Working Conditions
Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer, fax and telephone.
Minimum Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent
Completion of formal apprenticeship program or in-company training preferred
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Ability to read instructions and diagrams
Ability to perform simple tasks independently after being given instructions
General knowledge of simple equipment used in business trades
Ability to use hand tools and trades type tools
Steady and reliable worker
Ability to work alone or as part of a team
Ability to stay on task amid distraction
Ability to perform all tasks with excellence in an efficient, safe, and timely manner.
Willing to work in a camp setting and work irregular hours.
Maintain a valid CA Driver License with less than two (2) violations in the last 12 months, or a DUI within the last 18 months and must pass Fleet Safety Test of TSA
Background check is required with certification for Protect the Mission policies and procedures. Employment is contingent upon passing background check. Must take protect the mission training.
