ScopeAs an Imaging Assistant you need to know how to:

  • Contribute to the safety and comfort of patients, explains the procedures, and comforts the patients throughout the procedure. Prepares patients for procedures including changing patients into gown, checking for allergies, obtaining vitals, explaining paperwork and the procedure, and transporting patient to appropriate exam room.
  • Facilitates patient workflows by assisting technologies as needed to include contact and schedule patients. Monitors workflow in procedure room, communicates delays to the patients, families and physicians.
  • Assists during procedures including biopsy procedures, transports specimens to pathology, and maintains adequate inventory by ordering and stocking supplies as needed.
  • Communicates with nursing units, ED, and physicians office regarding orders.
  • Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety standards, environmental and infection control standards.
  • Requires thorough knowledge and understanding of the imaging principals. Is aware of radiation safety requirements and reports areas of concern immediately to proper area for resolution.
  • Maintains cleanliness of rooms and equipment to maintain work environment.


Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalency, required
  • Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association, required
  • EMT license or Phlebotomist Certification or Certified Nursing Assistant Certification, preferred
  • One (1) year of clinical and computer experience in medical setting, preferred

Physical Requirements:

Hearing/listening, lifting, manual dexterity, pulling/pushing, seeing, sitting, speaking, squatting/kneeling, standing, and walking.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$16.24 - $21.92
