Job Description:

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Binghamton University invites applications for a senior faculty position at the associate professor level to begin fall 2024. The department invite prominent leaders with a research focus in any of the broad areas of Quantum Communication, Quantum Computation or Quantum Information Science, including (but not limited to) realization of quantum circuits, applications of quantum computing and algorithms, quantum error correction, and novel quantum sensors, devices and supporting technology. We are particularly interested in candidates with an experimental focus.

The department has academic programs at the BS, MS, and PhD levels in electrical and computer engineering. The ECE department is located in a new, well-equipped research building. Primary areas of research conducted by faculty and students include: (1) DSP & Communications, (2) Power & Energy (3) Information Assurance, (4) Computer Design & Networks, (5) Micro & Opto-electronics, and (6) Controls & Laser Communication. Requirements:

Candidates must have a doctorate in electrical engineering, computer engineering or a closely related field, and must have developed an outstanding research program, including a strong record of securing external funding and establishing leadership. In addition, candidates must have a strong record of scholarship as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications and citations, and be an effective instructor at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
