Budget Title: Senior Staff Assistant (SL-3)

Salary: $55,151 (full-time, temporary)

Harpur Academic Advising is seeking a full-time office manager to join our fast paced, ever growing and student focused academic advising office. This position coordinates various administrative tasks for all areas within Harpur Academic Advising. Areas include general academic advising, pre-health advising, pre-law advising and departmental advising. Our office manager is actively engaged in coordinating the following administrative efforts:

  • Manage our in person, virtual, phone and email triaging process for our 20,000+ guests/year

  • Coordinate and manage front office activities including reception area, mail, large purchasing and facilities

  • Supervise front desk operations and front desk team members

  • Coordinate academic advising schedules for college advisors

  • Manage office inventory control, technology needs and oversee scheduling software

  • Prepare budget and financial reports to the director

  • Prepare and distribute office wide reports

  • Assist with the coordination of new student orientation scheduling

The initial appointment is temporary, with the possibility of moving to term after one year.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Two (2) years of responsible administrative experience

  • Strong computer skills, especially in Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Strong data analysis skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail

  • Ability to effectively, professionally and tactfully interact and communicate, both orally and in writing with students, faculty, staff and visitors

Preferred:

  • Prior financial management experience

  • Prior higher education work experience

  • Experience with student information systems, such as Banner, DegreeWorks

  • Experience with calendar management software
