Job Description:

The Program Manager will work within the Office of Entrepreneurship & Innovation Partnerships (EIP) to provide operational support to the leadership team for innovation, incubator, and accelerator programs. EIP supports a growing portfolio of startup companies, with a focus on the clean energy and energy storage space, including programs under the New Energy New York (NENY) initiative. This role will focus on supporting execution of program plans, timelines, promotion, recruitment, and processes, as well as managing program events and scheduling, with support of program associates and assistants.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with EIP and innovation program leadership to support implementation of startup accelerator and entrepreneurship training programming, including associated curricula, promotion plans, strategic plans, operational procedures, and management of resources.

  • Develop deep knowledge of innovation programs to communicate program objectives, features, eligibility, processes, and impacts to prospective and current client startups, as well as internal and external partners and stakeholders.

  • Support the creation, execution, and evaluation of program outreach and recruitment strategies, working with the EIP marketing and communications team, including through direct outreach, social media, event organization, and participation in external domain-relevant events.

  • Work with EIP marketing and communications team to oversee creation of informational and promotional materials including the annual report, fact sheets, impact statements, and monthly e-newsletters.

  • Search, identify, vet, recruit, and engage potential entrepreneur and startup candidates, with high degree of follow up as necessary.

  • Create, maintain, and implement all applications and onboarding aspects of bringing new companies into the program.

  • Facilitate programmatic activities including but not limited to day-to-day program operations (startup recruitment pipelines, mentor matching, program contractual obligations, program budget, expenditure, reporting, etc.), programming calendar, program communications with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Maintain organized databases of recruitment pipelines, program events, partner and relevant stakeholder contacts and engagements, and program and client startup reporting and metrics.

  • Become familiar with and establish working relationships with the roster of internal and external stakeholders, partners, programs, and resources to direct their engagement or use by client companies.

  • Recruit and manage external contractors as needed to support companies and programming.

  • Support program leadership in the continual monitoring of program budget and expenditures.

  • Support program metrics collection, evaluation, and reporting.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of program management, incubator, business development, or recruitment experience.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • The ability to work collaboratively with a variety of constituents and organizations is required.

  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills with great attention to detail.

  • Experience using Google Suite, Zoom, Airtable, Calendly, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Slack.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or similar, or advanced degree in physical sciences or engineering is a plus.

Additional Information:

Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 Annually. Note: This is for a one year appointment renewable based on successful performance and availability of funding.
