We are a people-centric company guided by the belief that employee-owners are more committed to delivering quality services which creates a unique culture that strives on employee-owner retention, diversity, and growth.MJ is seeking experienced Resident Engineer & Construction Inspectors to perform independent Construction Inspection services, including acting as liaison between firm, owner and contractor, on a Bridge project in Upstate NY, Chenango County during the 2024 Construction season.As a Resident Engineer / Senior Construction Inspector, your duties will include detailed inspection, monitoring, and oversight of quality control testing programs of site construction.Knowledge Skills & Abilities:Position requires working knowledge of and adherence to QA standards, plans and specifications.Ability to maintain daily work reports with good technical writing skills.Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate construction activities with the project owner and construction Contractors, and other staff.Ability to manage contract payments to construction Contractors including change orders.Ability to represent MJ in a professional manner is a must.Previous knowledge/construction experience with NYSDOT construction specifications/methods a plus. Desired Skills & Qualifications: Construction Inspector possessing NICET Level II and a minimum of 2 years of construction inspection experience preferred.Construction inspection experience commensurate with the scope of duties may be considered in lieu of NICET certifications.Must have Associate or Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or other closely related field, or currently enrolled in course of study in such program.2+ years of experience on transportation construction projects and familiarity with NYSDOT specifications are a plus.NICET certification at level 2 preferred.Valid driver’s license in good standing and reliable transportation to job site location.Strong verbal, written and organizational skills, with ability to work independently required.
Minimum Salary: 74,880 Maximum Salary: 87,360 Salary Unit: Yearly
