Description

We are seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Birmingham, Alabama. This role involves performing various tasks related to accounts payable and requires strong data entry skills and knowledge of Microsoft Excel. The successful candidate will be working on-site, at an airport location.

Responsibilities:

• Entering accounts payable invoices, maintaining consistency and accuracy in data entry tasks

• Ability to perform journal entries

• Working knowledge of the chart of accounts

• Familiarity with the General Ledger

• Utilizing Microsoft Excel to navigate and manage spreadsheets effectively

• Collaborating with a small team to handle an increased workload

• Adapting to flexible work hours between 7 AM and 4 PM

• Learning and utilizing the Quantum software for warehousing aircraft parts

• Dressing in casual attire, maintaining a professional appearance while on the job

• Reporting to the Executive VP and other team members as needed

• Participating in in-person interviews and resume reviews as part of the hiring process

• Receiving training from an accountant on the team to ensure alignment with company processes and standards.

Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) operations, including processing invoices, reconciling vendor statements, and making payments.

• Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data manipulation, analysis, and reporting.

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with internal teams and external vendors.

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.

• High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification. A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is a plus.

• Previous experience in an Accounts Payable role is beneficial.

• Familiarity with accounting software and systems is advantageous.

• Understanding of basic accounting principles and best practices.

• Willingness to continue learning and adapting to new accounting methods and technologies.
