Description

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Manager to join our client's team in Birmingham, Alabama. The role involves supervising a team of clerks, overseeing the disbursement process, and ensuring efficient management of accounts payable. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity in the insurance industry. You will have hybrid work flexibility in this role offering 3 days onsite with 2 days remote.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the daily operations of the accounts payable department

• Supervise a team of clerks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in their work

• Handle complex accounts payable duties, including check processing and expense reporting

• Utilize your experience with Form 1099 to ensure compliance with tax regulations

• Implement and maintain systems, procedures, and policies to improve efficiency and accuracy in the department

• Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments

• Manage vendor relationships and respond to inquiries regarding payment issues

• Prepare and present regular reports on the status of accounts payable

• Collaborate with other departments to resolve accounting discrepancies

• Oversee the implementation of accounting functions in line with industry standards.

Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Functions

• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP)

• Knowledge of Check Processing

• Familiarity with Expense Reporting

• Understanding of Form 1099

• Excellent organizational and leadership abilities

• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

• Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities

• Proficiency in MS Office and accounting software

• BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or relevant field

• Proven work experience as an Accounts Payable Manager or similar role.
