B.L. Harbert International is seeking a Construction Contracts Manager to work for our International Group. Candidate will assist Project Managers in the management of contracts for various international project locations. Candidate must be willing to travel both domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform change order management for prime contract and subcontracts
  • Collaborate with project personnel to prepare claims in accordance with the contract
  • Negotiate terms and conditions of major purchase orders
  • Maintain claims and contract management related logs
  • Manage prime contract and subcontract payment applications
  • Manage contract closeout documentation
  • Chair and attend internal and external meetings with contract partners
  • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, subcontractors and/or client counterparts
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance
  • Bachelors degree in construction, engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years experience in a similar capacity on a large EPC construction project managing government contracts
  • Experience with MS Office Suite, Autodesk suites, Primavera P6

Skills:

  • Proficiency in contract and claims management on commercial/industrial building projects
  • Strong working knowledge of construction contract conditions, design management, program and risk management, cost control including forecasting, actual cost and value reporting, construction scheduling
  • Strong ability to write professional contract correspondence
  • Excellent people management skills with the ability to influence and mentor
  • Problem solving skills and analytical thinking

Preferences:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Science, or related field

Physical Demands:

To perform the duties of this job, the employee must have the:

  • Ability to repetitively use hands to grasp, reach above and below with arms, and work overhead
  • Ability to stoop, bend, walk, kneel, crouch and crawl
  • Ability to lift, carry and/or move up to 25 lbs. of weight in the form of paper, boxes, files, etc.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods with occasional standing required
  • Manual dexterity to operate office equipment, filing, and perform specialized skills
  • Degree of concentration necessary in a busy office environment

  • Must have flexibility with hours to better accommodate business needs

Bachelors or better in Construction Management Services or related field.
