Description

We are offering a contract-to-hire employment opportunity for a Director of Cost Accounting in the Manufacturing industry based in Birmingham, Alabama. The role involves overseeing cost accounting and inventory management processes, thus requiring a keen eye for detail and strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee cost accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards and regulations

• Manage the inventory control process, including the monitoring of inventory levels and the implementation of inventory reduction strategies

• Utilize JD Edwards EnterpriseOne for cost analysis and the management of manufacturing costs

• Analyze and report on cost trends, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure the accurate recording and reporting of inventory levels

• Monitor customer accounts, taking appropriate action as necessary

• Process customer credit applications efficiently and accurately

• Maintain accurate customer credit records and resolve customer inquiries promptly and professionally

• Implement and maintain internal controls for cost and inventory management processes

• Continually review and improve cost and inventory management systems and procedures.

Requirements • Proven experience in a similar role within the Manufacturing Industry

• Strong knowledge and practice of Cost Accounting principles

• Proficiency in Cost Analysis, with the ability to analyze and interpret complex data

• Experience with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne software or similar ERP systems

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to lead and manage a team effectively

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Professional certification such as CPA, CMA, or similar is highly desirable
