Description

We are in search of a meticulous Sr. Accountant to join our team in BIRMINGHAM, Alabama. The role involves a wide array of accounting tasks, from payroll accruals to general ledger reconciliations, and requires someone with a hands-on approach to busy work. This role presents an exciting opportunity with a growing team in the healthcare industry.

Responsibilities:

• Handle payroll and AP accruals in a timely and accurate manner

• Prepare and manage prepaids

• Maintain and update the general ledger (GL)

• Conduct comprehensive reconciliations of the general ledger

• Manage and execute journal entries as required

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting

• Oversee month-end close procedures

• Operate MS Great Plains Accounting software for various accounting tasks

• Manage accruals on a monthly basis

• Balance sheet reconciliation and review.

Requirements • Extensive experience in account reconciliation

• Proficiency in balance sheet reconciliation

• Ability to perform bank reconciliations

• Familiarity with general ledger management

• Experience in recording journal entries

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Ability to handle month-end close processes

• Experience with MS Great Plains Accounting software

• Understanding of accruals and monthly accruals

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
