Position Description

Our terminals store and handle various commodities including gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel, chemicals, metals, petroleum coke, ethanol and other renewable fuels and feedstocks JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Warehouse Operations:

  • Accountable for the planning and oversight of the warehouse functions, including critical spare inventory management, project staging, and investment recovery.
  • Manage operations of warehouse including staff, facilities and equipment
  • Manage warehouse budget preparation and monthly variance reporting
  • Actively track quarterly scorecard data for warehouse
  • Meet with Operations, Project Management, and Engineering on a regular basis

Inventory Management:

  • Develop strategy for inventory stocking levels for warehouse by leveraging items across locations and understanding the business need for spare parts on hand
  • In collaboration with Operations, work to reduce excess inventory across supporting areas
  • Support all required inventory accounting and month-end activity
  • Assist in Lawson technology direction as it applies to all inventory functions such as item master set up, warehouse setup, and inventory reporting and training
  • Accountable for annual physical inventory counts, as well as resolving variances
  • Work on inventory requirements associated with acquisition integration and divestures, including account mapping and inventory accounting training

Surplus and Idle Assets Disposition:

  • Actively support corporate strategy for the sales and redeployments of surplus material throughout Kinder Morgan
  • Act as a liaison between the Business Unit and the Online Auction Company

Project Support:

  • In collaboration with Project Management, develop plans and manage project material staging
  • Coordinate loading out of project materials with construction contractors, freight carriers and/or Project Support
  • Support the company's disaster response activities including sourcing material and logistics

Position Requirements

Education:

  • A bachelor's degree in business, engineering, accounting, supply chain management or related discipline is preferred.

Experience/Specific Knowledge:

  • 7 years of experience in warehousing, logistics, materials management, purchasing, operations, engineering or related field is preferred.
  • Proven knowledge of materials such as pipe, valves and fittings
  • Natural Gas Compressor/engine/turbocharger knowledge is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers

  • Manage the submission of monthly accruals and journal entries for team
  • Assign and manage progress of special projects assigned to team members
  • Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with internal and external customers
  • Must be self-directed, take initiative, and be an out of the box thinker
  • Must be able to multitask while providing timely accurate turnaround on tasks, sometimes with strict deadlines
  • Must have strong communication (written and verbal), organization, problem solving and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across Business Units

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to hear and speak clearly
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus

Working Conditions:

  • Travel may be required across a broad geographic region, as determined by Hiring Manager
  • May be required to carry a company provided cell phone and respond as needed during working and non-working hours
  • Must be required to work non-traditional hours as needed
  • Must be available to respond to call-outs as assigned
  • Perform work in dusty environment and all types of temperature/weather conditions

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • Supervisor position

Above the minimum requirements, not required but advantageous in this position:

  • Experience with Lawson Inventory Control, Requisition Procurement modules
  • Background in oil and gas industry
  • Knowledge of Kinder Morgan business
