The Townsend Hotel Food Runner in Birmingham, Michigan

Description

Food Runners are responsible for expediting, assembling, delivering and assisting in the serving of food orders to our guests.

Availability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays are required.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Communicate messages from Chefs to servers, managers and host throughout service.
  • Ensures orders are being prepared with the correct priority.
  • Assist in the final preparation of dishes.
  • Check dishes before delivery for accuracy, presentation and temperature.
  • Replenish all plates and bowls for each station throughout service when needed.
  • Maintain stock levels for kitchen spoons at Chefs stations and replenish throughout service when needed.
  • Inspect and clean expeditor areas and requested areas by management during the duration of the shift.
  • Calculate and assemble required amounts of Bread, Crème Cheese, Whip Crème, Breakfast Garnish, and Maple Butter for service daily -- AM duty
  • Review and replenish all dressings and condiment stock levels prior to the next shift. - PM Duty
  • Assist with any culinary prep as directed by the chef.
  • Food Runners may respond to guest requests and provide assistance to dining room and kitchen team members.
  • Food Runners maintain their station in a clean and orderly manner and partner with Servers, Server Assistants/Bussers, and other team members to ensure that each and every guest receives exceptional service and hospitality.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Able to stand for 5 or more hours at a time.
  • Able to lift and carry 40 pounds on a regular basis and 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Able to lift and carry loaded trays and move tables and chairs.
  • Physical ability to grasp, stoop, reach, balance, move tables, and perform similar repetitive job-related movements.
