Ford Motor Company Electrification Material Logistics Manager in Bismarck, North Dakota

In this position...

This position will design and implement robust / cost efficient inbound material logistics network servicing domestic and international suppliers. The person will deliver for the new model program efforts ensuring facilities and cost reduction plans.

  • Required Travel: 60% of time is initially expected in-person in Irvine CA

What you'll do...

  • Identify and drive implementation of current and forward model freight savings ideas to contribute to NAML cost efficiency roadmap- support achievement of $XXXM NAML 20XX Cost Reduction Task.

  • Develop touch free material handling movement thru automation.

  • Develop scenarios to optimize now, near, and far network plans. Optimal mode and facility locations.

  • Develop and implement network optimization modeling process.

  • Develop forward looking model incorporating planned forward model actions.

  • Develop Cross-Vehicle line and cross mode strategic network opportunities.

  • Ensure capacity containment of our border crossings.

  • Align all financial reports with the Freight Accrual Dashboard.

  • Achieve $X-XXM of roadmap efficiencies annually.

  • Calibrate model to actual cost (normal all models + premium+overhead costs). Demonstrate how the network physicals are changing from now til 2+yrs out – proactively optimize network 2yrs out.

  • Define Coupa model for programs past .

  • Develop an automated support for managing all aspects of warehouse operations from receiving, storing goods, picking and shipping items.

  • Champion / Drive Total Landed Cost Decisions.

  • Drive projects that improve efficiency, and/or improve input/output accuracy.

  • Complete/drive projects that improve processes, standardization, and communication with NAML partners (MFE, Penske, MBO, Program Management, Purchasing, etc.)

  • Develop and analyze various material logistics reports and metrics.

You'll have...

  • Bachelors Degree

  • Demonstrate aptitude to deliver new IT tools to support our technology requirements

  • Demonstrate ability to produce quality results under time constraints, sometimes in team setting, other times alone.

  • Ability to produce forecasted costing, analyze costing, and teach others the physical drivers of the cost elements.

  • Operational familiarity with database manipulation utilizing MS Excel, MS Access, etc.

  • Operational familiarity with RPA creation & GDIA tools- experience with Alteryx, Tableau, QlikView, etc.

  • Computer skills: CMMS, SAP, PFEP-Pro new model and current model data management system, MS Office package (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).

  • Motivated to plan aggressively, accept challenges, take responsibility for assignments, and deliver objectives on time

  • Effective verbal and written communication, presentation, and meeting skills. Positive attitude

  • Project management skills – create and maintain open issue lists, master schedules, lead cross functional teams, issue resolution, financial tracking and management of program fund spending and equipment procurement.

  • Willing to do what it takes to get the job done. Desire to learn. Problem solving and time management skills. Proactive issue identification and resolution. Deliver results on time and with high quality.

  • Strong leadership skills to interface with plant personnel; staff MP&L (MFE, SCM, etc.) and cross-functional (Purchasing, Lead Logistics Providers, etc.) teams.

  • Innovative problem solving. Develop work plans with timing. Conduct thorough analysis.

  • Team player and willing to take a leadership role.
