Position Title: Manager, Project Management

Position Purpose:

This position is responsible for overseeing and supporting Information Technology (IT) project management activities including planning, executing, monitoring, mitigating issues, reporting, and prioritizing IT project-related functions. This position will establish procedures, documents, and conduct project management activities with IT. The incumbent will be responsible for hiring, mentoring, and leading team members. This position is identified as a Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) related position, which may allow physical and/or logical access to Bulk Electric System (BES) cyber related assets or systems.

Essential Functions:

  • Direct and lead enterprise information technology projects of all sizes.

  • Establish and implement communication plans, often reporting to steering committees, senior leaders, management, or other key stakeholders regarding the status of IT projects, initiatives, or budgets.

  • Implement IT strategies that deliver projects on schedule and within budget.

  • Perform team management functions, as well as, direct, delegate, coordinate, and support work of IT Project Managers, IT Portfolio Analysts, and other project team members.

  • Establish processes and procedures to conduct change management activities within the lifecycle of a project.

  • Oversee the IT portfolio management functions for IT project creation, project reprioritization, project strategic alignment, resource allocation, and conflict resolution.

  • Oversee the administration of the IT Project Management Information System (PMIS)

  • Develop business relationships and integrate activities with other internal and external project teams.

  • Analyze risks and issues related to IT projects or the IT portfolio. Develop and implement mitigation plans in response to identified risks or issues.

Qualifications :

  • Comprehensive knowledge of information technology (IT) and project management skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering or a related discipline, and 12 years of related IT experience; or

  • A similar associates degree combined with 14 years of related IT experience; or

  • High school diploma or equivalent (HSED or GED) and 16 years of related IT experience.

  • Prior experience acting as a lead, supervisor or previous enterprise-scale project management experience is preferred.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, negotiation, customer service, analytical, and problem-solving skills are required.

  • Proficient with multiple IT project management information systems and be able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of project management methodologies, processes, and terminology.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt to a quickly changing environment.

  • Expected to hold or pursue and maintain a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification within two years.

  • A valid driver’s license.

Typical Physical/Mental/Environmental Demands:

This position requires the ability to remain in a stationary position and to move about the office building, occasional reaching below and above shoulder level, constant use of keyboard/computer and other office productivity machinery, bending, kneeling, lifting/carrying up to 10 pounds and pushing/pulling up to 20 pounds. It also requires finger dexterity and hand coordination. This position requires the ability to communicate and must be able to clearly exchange accurate information. It also requires the ability to develop plans, procedures and goals; present information to others; and work under stress to complete projects within deadlines. Occasional travel may be required.
