The Director of Quality is a member of their Executive Management Team that impacts the direction of the company as a whole.

The Director of Quality plans, coordinates, and directs company quality processes to ensure production of products consistent with the customer and ISO 9001 requirements by performing duties personally or through delegation to subordinates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves as the management representative for the ISO 9000 program.?
  • Analyzes data and product specifications to determine quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.
  • Formulates and maintains quality assurance objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals.
  • Communicate quality assurance philosophy to key personnel in organization.
  • Has the final authority for product release throughout production and shipment to the customer.
  • Maintains quality performance metrics and communicates metrics and trend analyses to departments within the organization.
  • Directs workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over material and product quality.
  • Control non-conforming products until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected or approved by the customer.
  • Confers with vendors to ensure quality of purchased parts and materials for company use.
  • Designs and implements quality assurance training programs.
  • Investigates and resolves customer complaints regarding quality.
  • Manages documentation related to the company's Business Management System.
  • Oversees various continuous improvement activities.
  • Manages company Internal Audit team/process.
  • Evaluates customer RoHS, REACH, etc. requirements to ensure the company is able to comply.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly supervises Quality Inspectors and Quality Technician. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
