Tredegar Corporation Team Leader, Production in Bloomfield, New York

Coordinates a production team and other resources to maintain quality and to insure fulfillment of the production schedules and Company production objectives.  

  • Ensures at all times that the safety of the team and equipment is of primary importance and is constantly on the alert for emergency situations and prepared to take prompt preventive or corrective action, including shut down of the equipment if necessary.

  • Reviews production area prior to shift change to ensure compliance to AIB, GMP, ISO, 5S and shift change expectations. Complete shift pass down with incoming team leader.

  • Monitors conditions in Clean Room 1 to ensure quality product is being produced. Necessary actions are being taken and perform product changes on Biax line.

  • Instructs, assigns work and follows up on the work of the team members. Assign breaks and lunches for operators. Ensure staffing levels to cover vacations

  • Responsible for the quality of the product being produced to ensure production standards are within established limits.

  • Instructs the team and ensures that each team member has complete knowledge and understanding of the operating conditions of their respective equipment.

  • Analyzes off-standard conditions and determines the necessary steps to eliminate such conditions by making adjustments or instructing operating personnel. Off-standard conditions usually necessitate quick decision and action on the part of the Team Leader.

  • Regularly checks with the operating personnel about the production technicians’ conditions.

  • Determines the causes and takes the necessary action to ensure equipment is safe and works efficiently.

  • Completes the preparation of the team’s annual performance reviews and semiannual proficiency evaluations.

  • Ensures accurate records are maintained (daily logs, TOTVS).

  • Assists with the planning and implements the operational steps required to affect scheduled major product changes, start-ups and shutdowns, experimental work and special assignments that are requested.

  • Administers and documents disciplinary procedures as required.

  • Monitors attendance, approves timecards and vacations

  • Demonstrated strong leadership qualities

  • Good verbal, instructional and written communication skills,

  • The ability to acquire, retain and accurately apply a thorough knowledge of the operation of complex process and production machines with its allied instruments and control devices.

  • A high degree of alertness and the ability for prompt and accurate decision and action in the event of emergency conditions, poor product quality or machine problems.

  • Ability to exercise independent judgement and accountability to Production Manager.

  • Self-motivated worker that leads the team by setting a strong work example

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent and at least five years of experience as a production technician with

knowledge of all machinery in the facility and/or an equivalent combination of education and

experience.  Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic understanding of ERP System, Forklift Certification.
