Hilton Minneapolis/Bloomington Hotel Assistant Director of Engineering in Bloomington, Minnesota

Description Purpose of Position: This position is a working management position. The Assistant Director of Engineering will assist the Director of Engineering by completing all assigned job duties and to assist with the oversight of the Engineering department in the evenings. In this position, the Assistant Director will help to ensure that all physical building assets and equipment remain in good repair with a minimum of down time. This is accomplished by performing day-to-day maintenance and preventative maintenance projects in the hotel, as well as by guiding and supporting fellow engineers on the completion of their assignments. While utilizing knowledge, skills, and experience, this position works towards continuous improvement of guest services and support systems that affect both internal and external customers and guests. Responsibilities: Provides daily Condition and Work Progress report to the Director of Engineering. Supervises, directs and inspects the Engineers on a daily basis to insure their work productivity and quality meets standards and deadlines. Responsible for coordination and roll-out of projects as directed. Interacts as needed with guests, contractors, vendors. Knowledge of brand standards and service standards. Performs all assigned day-to-day maintenance and preventative maintenance projects as assigned. Assists fellow Engineers with their assigned tasks to include trouble shooting, regular maintenance and repairs. Conducts regular inspections via walk-thrus of public areas, back of the house areas, guest rooms and exterior areas. Performs any other reasonable job duty as assigned. Requirements: Must be able to read and interpret documents to include: Blueprints/Schematics, Procedure manuals, OSHA standards such as LockOut/TagOut, MSDS, etc Possess the individual ability to troubleshoot, repair and/or maintain all of the following: Physical building to include all FF&E A/C and refrigeration equipment Electrical systems Mechanical equipment (i.e. motors, starters, pumps, fans, etc.) Plumbing and drains Pneumatic and electronic systems and controls Fire Alarm and Life Safety equipment Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work independently or as a member of a team. Analytical skills in order to be able to assess and identify problems and then implement solutions. Represent the hotel and company in a courteous and professional manner at all times.
