We are searching for a Customer Finance Operations Supervisor ('Trade Spend Supervisor') to join our team in either Bloomington, MN or Marshall, MN. In this role, the Trade Spend Supervisor is responsible for supervising staff to ensure all controls, processes and procedures are followed related to all trade spending (deductions and checks) and processed in a timely and efficient manner and incompliance with agreed upon program requirements, including adherence to all internal guidelines and accounting rules.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for establishing controls, processes and procedures pertinent to various trades spend programs, ensuring compliance with internal guidelines and accounting rules.

  • Works directly with customers, brokers and sales team to resolve discrepancies and errors in customer deductions; provides documentation, leads conference calls, and other forms of communication to resolve errors and ensure collection on unauthorized deductions.

  • Works with customers to incorporate their systems and processes with ours in the most effective and efficient manner. Monitors and measures adherence to controls, processes and procedures as they relate to the financial impact.

  • Ensures system functionality is used to fullest capability for data tracking, accuracy, controls, financial accruals and efficiencies.

  • Manages relationship and execution of third party service provider for End User Rebate process and payment.

  • Collaborates with Sales and Marketing on new trade spend programs to establish needs, controls, customer adherence and execution.

  • Provides management reporting as to trends, actual spend rate vs. plan, ROI impact and improvement recommendations.

  • Provides leadership to ensure achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPI's), including, but not limited to: DDO, deduction and accrual aging, etc.

  • Participates in all new systems and programming changes including, but not limited to, trade systems , SAP and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) along with system integration.

  • Coordinates activities for follow-up on customer deductions to reduce billing errors and resolve disputes in a timely manner.

  • Ensures compliance to internal guidelines and controls for Trade Spending, Deductions and Post Audit Deductions.

  • Manages post audit deduction claims and notification for all business units, negotiates and resolves post audit issues with customers and external audit agencies.

  • Manages, coaches, and develops staff.

  • Responsible to conduct yourself and ensure your subordinates (if applicable) conduct themselves in a manner consistent with company mission, values, code of ethics, policies, and other standards of conduct.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent experience preferred.

  • Years of Related Experience: 5-7 years related experience.

  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Advanced PC skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. Strong organizational skills. Database understanding, with querying experience. Advanced written skills. Demonstrated effective communication skills, including presentation skills. Effective interpersonal skills. Good mathematical comprehension. Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work within a budget. Knowledge of SAP or another ERP system preferred.
