General Dynamics Mission Systems Lead Manufacturing Supervisor in Bloomington, Minnesota

Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related specialized area or the equivalent experience is required plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience to meet managerial expectations. CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Candidates must be able to obtain a Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required. Responsibilities for this Position GDMS is looking for a Manufacturing Lead Supervisor to lead production assembly and inspection associates at our Bloomington Manufacturing Operations. This position will report into the Senior Manager for Manufacturing in our Bloomington Site. As a seasoned leader, this coach will develope team, grow skillsets and lead team members to, monitor performance, and complete manufacturing operations to production schedules. You will also coordinate with our material, engineering and planning functions to ensure personnel are available and assigned for successful execution of production plans. This position is also responsible to develop skilled and flexible resources to allow the moving of staff to production needs. The Manufacturing Lead Coach will lead manufacturing associates in conjunction with manufacturing engineering, quality and material functions to achieve cost, quality and cycle time targets. Duties and Tasks: Responsible for leading and developing lower level Coaches Supervises the day-to-day workflow of subordinate nonexempt workers who put together component parts to make assemblies, subassemblies, packaging or completed units Acquire capable production staff and cross train staff to meet process center schedules. Assign work within process center to meet schedule, cost, quality and cycle time objectives. Ensures the employee motivation, counseling, and discipline of employees supervised Ensures training certifications are up to date for employees within area of responsibility Measure employee performance, grow employee capability and provide performance input for salary planning. Generally assigned to more complex production operations with greater independent authority and broader spans of control in terms of functions directed, operational difficulties encountered, or number of employees directly and indirectly supervised May direct subordinates through "lead" employees Reviews production schedules, material, and manpower resources in order to assign employees to maximize production objectives, maintain quality and attain output requirements Informs assigned employees of production and material problems and coordinates with support groups to resolve problems affecting schedules Participates in establishing and modifying operational methods and processes by recommending changes in materials, equipment, and procedures Maintains a variety of reports, records, and production documentation to reflect schedules, performance, methods, etc. Monitors budget performance and takes action to correct anomalies Knowledge and Skills: Proficient knowledge of production activities Proficient interpersonal skills Proficient communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to effectively present at management meetings Proficient computer skills Possesses motivation, leadership, mentoring and facilitating skills Ability to transfer knowledge and experience What sets you apart: Creative thinking with the ability to multi-task Fully proficient understanding of earned value tools and preparation of variance analysis reports (VAR) Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success Target salary range: USD $100,693.80/Yr. - USD $108,953.85/Yr. This estimate represents he typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary.
