Description

Network Administrator . The role involves managing and improving network infrastructure, coordinating with other IT professionals, and providing technical support.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate the procurement and deployment of network hardware, software, and security products

• Contribute to problem-solving activities by aiding in issue resolution and conducting root cause analyses

• Assist in the development and upkeep of documentation and support procedures for various technologies

• Propose and implement solutions for infrastructure improvement based on identified needs

• Review and enhance the city's current network documentation in collaboration with the IT team

• Coordinate infrastructure support activities with other IT professionals

• Update the network project plan regularly in line with evolving construction projects

• Install and patch network hardware as needed, including switches and wiring at various sites

• Plan, test, and implement system upgrades and changes in collaboration with the IT team, city staff, and vendors

• Maintain professional relationships with network service providers to ensure optimal service delivery

• Ensure compliance with regulatory and licensing requirements related to network administration

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to forecast future network needs

• Participate in the implementation of network updates, including system upgrades, patches, and new releases

• Act as the point of escalation for the helpdesk, providing expert assistance when needed

• Perform additional duties as needed, which may include tasks not strictly related to network administration.

Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Network Administrator or a similar role in the IT sector.

• Proficiency in managing Cisco Routers and familiarity with Cisco Technologies.

• Experience with Citrix Technologies and Dell Technologies.

• Knowledge of Firewall Technologies and their implementation.

• Proficiency in managing and maintaining Active Directory.

• Familiarity with Backup Technologies and their use in data protection.

• Understanding of Computer Hardware and its relation to network performance.

• Experience in Configuration Management and Deployments within a network.

• Ability to work in a local government setting and adhere to its regulations.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field is preferred.

• Relevant certifications in networking or system administration would be advantageous. Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.®
