We are moving our headquarters to Eagan in 2025! This role is based at our current HQ in Bloomington but will move to Eagan in 2025. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Solar Preconstruction Project Manager role is responsible for collaborating with the Sales and Estimating teams to assist in the successful planning and facilitation of a project from sale to kick off as well as interface with internal and external customers throughout the life cycle of a project - Review project proposals to determine Hunt s project scope and responsibilities. - Develop and maintain customer relationships to secure future business by attending on and off-site meetings and events. - Secure projects while recognizing commitment to quality workmanship, positive industry image and customer satisfaction. - Execute the estimating plan/strategy which includes providing accurate estimates of labor, materials, and administrative costs for assigned projects. - Collaborate with Marketing, Sales and Estimating teams to prepare project proposals. - Interface with Designers, Project Managers, and others to resolve issues throughout the project. - Maintain and develop new customer relationships to secure future business in the commercial and industrial markets. - Determine the customer s needs and interpret their definition of a successful project. - Prepare solar design for estimating purposes. - Collaborate with Engineering team and 3rd party vendors, on quotes and system design. - Collaborate with the operations group and purchasing department on purchases of equipment. - Prepare, process, and maintain all files, correspondence, schedules, reports, and quotations necessary to perform the responsibilities of the contract. - Participate and/or facilitate project planning and follow up meetings throughout the project life cycle - Participate & present in committee and department meetings. - Participate in the interview process and responds to customer questions. - Attend on and off-site customer/client meetings and events. - Develop relationships with vendors - Facilitate the estimating kickoff meetings. - Verify the estimator check list has been completed. - Participate in pre-bid bid and final bid reviews with the Estimating team - Able to work cooperatively within diverse teams, both internally and externally, to achieve group and organizational goals. - Maintains and promotes individual and organization integrity and values in conduct of all activities. QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS - High school diploma or equivalent. - Associates degree in electrical construction, construction management, electrical engineering, or similar discipline preferred. - 5+ years of experience working in the electrical construction industry. - 3+ years of experience working as a Salesperson and/or Project Manager in the electrical construction industry. - Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, sales tactics, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods and the coordination of manpower and resources. - Strong computerized estimating skills using Enterprise or similar software. - Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe/Bluebeam. - Experience with conceptual estimating, low voltage systems estimating, design/build estimating. - Ability to develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize and accomplish the goals. - Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. - Effective problem solving and time management skills. - Ability to multi-task and prioritize to manage workload and meet deadlines.
