AQUA BLUE POOLS Construction Project Manager in Bluffton, South Carolina

Competitive compensation package - $63,000+ (Dependent on experience)

What you'll be doing:

  • Putting your construction knowledge and construction processes to use on each project to ensure pools are built and installed to the highest quality per building codes and municipality requirements - and the standards set by Aqua Blue Pools, exceeding customer expectations each step along the way.

  • Manage the construction of quality swimming pools within budget and in a timely manner

  • Ensure the safe construction of swimming pools

  • Attention to detail and persistent follow-up

  • Assist with the construction schedule and monitor the actual construction cost

  • Oversee subcontractors; relationships, pricing, and expectations

  • Approval of invoices by sub-contractors

  • Provide superior customer service

  • Review warranty reports and identify areas for improvement

  • Provide internal reporting and projections for inventory

  • Oversee and supervise construction project progress and provide reports on timeline, progress, and adjustments

  • Ensure all legal requirements, building and safety codes, safety inspections, city guidelines, and local and state regulations are met

  • Estimating unique design and/or pool features

  • Interpret and explain contracts and technical information to other professionals

  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other construction specialists

  • Respond to work delays, emergencies, and other problems

  • Managing and motivating team members in the construction department

  • Ensuring all equipment needed is in working order

  • Ensuring budget costs are not exceeded

  • Ensuring construction processes start and end on time, and efficiently

Quality control:

  • Conducting site inspections as needed

  • Ensuring that each project is completed either on time and within budget, or ahead of time.

  • Read and understand construction documents and plans.

  • Scheduling and meeting deadlines. Strong time management and organizational skills are essential to success.

  • Interact with your team, construction crews, subcontractors and Aqua Blue Pools customers... providing service, recommendations and general guidance. Ensure all company guidelines and procedures are met and exceeded.

  • Effectively supervise your team to ensure quality of work, spot checking their workmanship.

  • Respond to requests in a timely, thorough, and professional manner.

  • Train and supervise your team and crews to ensure quality pool construction standards are met or exceeded.

  • Accept on-call service as needed.

  • Coach, mentor, train, and continually monitor the team.

As a Pool Construction Superintendent in our construction division, you will also need:

  • Three years' experience as a construction manager or in a similar position in construction management

  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

  • Able to manage a team of employees and multiple projects

  • Experienced at compiling and following strict budgets

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Accurate and precise attention to detail

  • Goal-oriented and organized leadership

  • Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions

  • In-depth understanding of the construction industry

  • Self-motivated and self-directed

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products: Excel and Outlook

  • Utilize company-provided devices when working in the field (phone and tablet)

  • Utilize company software for project management

Other:

  • Organized and able to create multiple timelines, budgets, and schedules

  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal building code regulations

  • Able to build solid relationships with team members, vendors, and customers

  • Have a good driving record

  • Maintaining the highest standards in customer-service; ethical and professional conduct

  • Knowledge of pools is a plus

  • Ensure the team and construction crews are customer ready at all times while inspiring engaging, customer-focused behavior, mitigating and reducing customer issues, and driving positive first impressions for customers when we step onto their property.
