Hilton Head Christian Academy Head Varsity Boys Soccer Coach in Bluffton, South Carolina

Title: Head Varsity Boys Soccer Coach

Reports to: Athletic Director

Direct Reports: n/a

Experience: 2-3 years of relevant coaching experience preferred; Soccer license preferred

Primary Function:To oversee the boys soccer program, from Middle School through Varsity, as well as serve as head coach of the Varsity Boys Soccer team.

Requirements

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage cohesiveness and overall consistency of boys soccer program, from middle school through varsity.

  • Run efficient and effective practices five days a week within parameters of school policies and hours (ie, after 3:15pm on weekdays, no practices on Sundays, etc)

  • Coordinate games and work with the Athletic Director for all game day details

  • Offer off-season opportunities for player growth and development

  • Mentor student athletes on and off the field, consistently modeling a Christian witness in all interactions, including but not limited to interactions with players, parents, officials, coaching staff, opposing teams and coaches.

  • Promote and build a team and program culture of strong Christian character, sportsmanship, diligent work ethic, and team above self.

  • Coordinate and cooperate effectively with the girls soccer program

  • Be a born-again Christian, committed to the Lord, exhibiting a close and dynamic daily walk with Jesus Christ.

  • Be in agreement with and able to support the school’s Statement of Faith.

  • Be a student of God's Word and be able to apply Biblical truth in speaking and counseling situations.

  • Place the oneness of the Body of Christ above membership in a particular denomination or church.

  • Understand the distinctives of Christian education and HHCA and be committed to those distinctives.

  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with staff, students, faculty and parents.

  • Have a teachable spirit and be able to take criticism with a willingness to learn and grow.

  • Be well organized.

  • Have excellent computer skills.

  • Maintain confidentiality in all school matters.

  • Be able to follow through on communications and decisions.

  • Have professional experience and qualifications that match the needs and responsibilities of the position.

  • Have the ability to present a positive image of the school to others and to the community.
