Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking Data Center Project Assistant as part of our Work Based Learning Program (WBLP). This position requires the successful candidate report to a site location. Amazon has multiple WBLP trainee openings between October – December 2024. Trainees will participate in our 12-week work and training program in our Oregon facilities with virtual support for the San Francisco Bay Area facilities.

As a Data Center Project Assistant, you will be a part of a creative, diverse team tasked with solving fascinating problems constructing Amazon Data Centers. Our data centers are industry examples of the most interesting electrical and mechanical systems in the world! In this role, you will provide administrative support to Data Center Project Managers in an effort to support overall organizational goals. Your flexibility and adaptability are key to constantly changing demands and priorities. You will frequently find yourself in the center of everything that happens on the team. You are pivotal to the success of a well-run, efficient, productive and enthusiastic team!

Key job responsibilities

In this role, you will wear many hats! Project Assistants perform an array of administrative functions critical to running an organization efficiently. You will strategically manage your Data Center Project Manager's Administration tasks of:

• Badge requests and vendor on-boarding

• Project input requests

• Project funding submission, Vendor Purchase Requests and Orders

• Changes to the Risk Assessment, Method of Procedure templates, etc.

• Change Management Approvals and schedule coordination

• Managing of scopes of work

• Track delivery of material with the Power and Cooling Supply team

• Coordinate plans for internal equipment transfers

• IT equipment procurement

• Team wiki updates

• Travel arrangements

• Update Procore

• Update status at the managers’ request

• Misc. project support for new hires Closeout documents (Townsend, Agile, daily scans, Quality Control, etc.)

• Manage requests for access

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent education

• 18 years or older

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Office

• 1+ years of experience planning and time management OR relevant training completed

• 1+ years of experience in construction, or data center environments OR relevant training completed

• Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements and functional/technical depths and complexity for this role
