Job Overview:

APTIM is seeking an experienced CEI Senior Project Engineer to support on FDOT projects. This is a field position to support FDOT roadway and bridge projects. Responsibilities may also include supporting additional APTIM Projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of the construction project to ensure compliance with FDOT specifications, including planning, coordination, and execution.
  • Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure the highest standards of construction quality are met.
  • Conduct thorough inspection of construction activities to ensure adherence to design specifications, FDOT standards, and safety regulations.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including daily reports, inspection reports, change orders, and correspondence with contractors and stakeholders.
  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers and inspectors, providing guidance and support to create a collaborative and effective working environment.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between FDOT, contractors, project stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify, resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during construction, utilizing strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Ensure all activities comply with FDOT regulations, environmental standards, and safety protocols.
  • Monitor project budgets and expenditures, ensuring projects are completed withing financial constraints.

Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) registered in the State of Florida
  • Six (6) years of engineering experience
  • Two (2) of those years involved in relevant transportation projects
  • A Master's Degree in Engineering may be substituted for one (1) year engineering experience.

FDOT Advanced MOT

CTQP Quality Control Manager (Attend and pass the examination)
