This company is located in the Boca Raton, Florida region and is offering a dynamic, mulit-faceted long-term contract / temporary to hire opportunity where effort is rewarded. The duties of Staff Accountant include fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, general ledger reconciliation, journal entries, and the preparation of monthly and year-end closings. This position spends a fair amount of time producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. You'll also have responsibility over various aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. In addition, you will take part in compliance, communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes.
What you get to do every single day
Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed
Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner Requirements - Knowledgeable of ERP systems
Experience with financial reporting
Foundational knowledge in Full Cycle Payroll
3 Way Matching experience
Practical knowledge of Analyze Financial Statements
Previous experience working with Monthly Financial Reports
Earlier work involving Prepare Financial Statements
Demonstrated knowledge of Financial Services
General familiarity with Financial Statement
Adeptness in GAAP Accounting
Expertise in Accounts Payable (AP)
Excel Formulas experience highly desired
General ledger experience preferred
Expertise in Monthly Bank Reconciliation
Financial statement preparation experience highly preferred
Foundational knowledge in Microsoft Excel
Prior experience with general ledger
Comprehension of Prepare Financial Reports
Hands-on experience with Financial reporting standards
Background working with Monthly Financial Statements
Deep understanding of Accounts Receivable (AR)
Demonstrated knowledge of month end closings
Bank reconciliations experience desired
Deep understanding of Credit Card Reconciliation
Experience with Certified Payroll
Monthly Financial Reporting experience highly valued
Good understanding of Review Financial Statements
Adeptness in Analyze Financial Statements
Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Ability to meet deadlines
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
