The Saint Alphonsus Medical Group is now hiring for a Medical Assistant Program Coordinator/Educator!

Position Summary & Highlights:

  • The Medical Assistant Program Coordinator is an experienced Medical Assistant who will be responsible for development, planning, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of a Medical Assistant Internal Program within the ambulatory care setting.

  • The Coordinator will establish and educate candidates on the didactic objectives and skill competencies to become a Medical Assistant with the goal of successful completion of a national certification exam from one of the SAHS approved agencies for each candidate.

What You Will Do :

  • Instruct curriculum for the internal Medical Assistant Program.

  • Recruit, hire, orient, develop, and evaluate performance of MA students in the program.

  • Schedule the program work, coordinate all activities of the program and set priorities for management.

  • Mentor less experienced students as needed, serves as a role model and resource.

  • Manage colleague coaching and feedback as needed throughout the program.

  • Ensure completion of staff competency assessments.

  • Staff schedule development and monitor of performance once colleagues are in ambulatory setting.

  • Develop policies and procedures to ensure compliance with hospital, state, federal, and accrediting agency guidelines for the MA Program.

  • Revenue management: Support the Executive Director of Nursing in budget development and forecasting for program maintenance including equipment and supplies for skills lab, and propose growth objectives of the program.

  • You may also coordinate the placement of student externships with various local vocational schools.

  • An ideal candidate is self-motivated, team-oriented, creative, flexible, and has a marketing mindset or related experience.

  • You will also demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, have strong verbal and written communication skills, have ability to work independently, and enjoy collaborating with others.

Work Hours :

  • 40 hours/week, Mondays – Fridays, around the hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm.

  • 6140 N. Curtisian Ave., Boise, ID 83704 (Boise Regional Medical Center campus - I-184 and Curtis Road)

Minimum Qualifications :

  • MA certification from one of the following SAHS approved agencies required.

  • American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)

  • American Medical Technologists (RMA)

  • National Healthcare Association (CCMA)

  • National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)

  • American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)

  • Minimum of 5 years experienced in a clinical setting required.

  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire in all units, unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS as defined in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk.

  • Two years of coordinating and educating clinical programs highly preferred.

  • Experience in training small groups preferred.
