As a Senior Contract Administrator for strategic construction projects, you will audit proposals, both new and existing, and develop contracts that fit the scope of each proposal. You will keep a database to track the progress of all contracts to ensure that all work is carried out with the appropriate speed, accuracy, insurances, and certifications. You will be working with worldwide construction companies to ensure performance standards for design and construction projects are included in the construction contracts and safety and risk requirements and performance is met. As a Sr, Contract Administrators you will work as a liaison between construction companies and internal customers. You will assure that each contract is accurate, compliant and efficient and the contract terms are adhered to.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Take sufficient steps to minimize project risks

  • Liaise with and support the Project Manager to ensure the project is driven safely and properly

  • Ensure compliance with the company’s work health and safety policies, standards and procedures

  • Prepare monthly project reports and make presentations at meetings

  • Support negotiations of claims, manage contractual changes and resolve disputes or conflict resolution with Contractors

  • Assess and prepare claims from suppliers

  • Ensure project members use the contract accurately

  • Responsible for reviewing insurance requirements, and ensuring that all forms and approvals are in place before construction start

  • Responsible that all contracts are reviewed and renewed before they expiration

  • Work with many external customers such as local government, lawyers, architects, client-side project managers and of course, other contractors

  • Responsible for reviewing payment requests from contractors and administering or approving payments in conjunction with the Project Manager, or cost control department.

  • Responsible to monitor, enforce and address project execution related to contractual obligations.

  • Escalate non-compliant contractual performance.

  • First point of contacts for any disagreements arises between the parties of a contract.

  • Provide input of performance to supplier evaluation reviews

  • Issue supplier quality notices (SQN) when significant issues arise. Coordinate follow-up meetings.

  • Understand market situations from cost and construction law perspective to

  • Create contractual strategy for RFP issuance

  • Connect, communicate, and train with the broader Micron procurement organization to ensure consistent supplier messaging.

  • Annually work with internal and/or external auditors.

  • Coordinate non-disclosure agreements (NDA) and occasional joint development and master supply agreements (JDA/MSA) for the Mask Technology Center.

  • Record and maintain a filing system for all receipts pertaining to vendors, materials and services. This helps to review each job at the end of a project against the budget and help inform decisions for future projects.

  • Communicate purchasing strategy for assigned construction projects

  • Collaborate with Micron finance and planning regarding budgets and cashflow.

  • Collaborate with global procurement to negotiate construction and design contracts and issue purchase orders

  • Ensure Micron’s supplier on-boarding process is executed for all potential new capital suppliers.

  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask effectively, and work towards deadlines while paying attention to detail

  • Exceptional computer skills with a good grasp on technology

  • Confidently carry out negotiations, take care of a wide variety of specialists from all different groups, and build substantial and lasting relationships within each group

  • Good understanding of the key elements of construction contracts.

Successful candidates for this position will have:

  • At least 8 years of engineering or procurement experience.

  • Fundamental knowledge of construction techniques, building materials, standards and equipment

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret legal documents, financial reports and technical documents

  • Ability to apply arithmetic concepts such as fractions, ratios and proportions to real scenarios

  • Basic understanding of construction purchasing and procedures

  • Proficiency in common office applications

  • Good understanding of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and occupational, safety and environmental regulations and law

  • Time management and problem-solving skills

  • Verbal and written communication skills

  • Proven understanding of construction project controls and construction contracting.

  • ​Effective project management with outstanding customer focus.

  • Effective communication at multiple levels of the organization.

  • Presentation skills regarding professional slide deck preparation and both in-person and remote verbal presentation of strategic content.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in contract management, building and construction or engineering.

  • Preferred certifications: professional certification through the National Contract Management Association, Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM) certification, CPC40320 Certificate IV in Building Project Support. Any other relevant certification is an added advantage.

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

$86,500.00 - $157,000.00

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training. The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Additional compensation may include benefits, discretionary bonuses and equity.
