Cardinal Health Senior Cybersecurity Controls Validation Engineer in Boise, Idaho

We currently have a career opening for a SR Cybersecurity Engineer. We are open to a remote worker in this position.
This role will be able to look at Cardinal Health’s Cybersecurity landscape to identify control gaps and propose technical solutions to remediate. This individual will collaborate with teams across EIT and Security to improve, implement, and remediate security controls.
Responsibilities
Oversee the technical/security efforts for Cybersecurity Controls Governance team projects and engagements
Innovate/Develop/Implement strategies, tools, and dashboards to advance Applied Security efforts
Contribute to security policies and standards to improve overall security posture and adherence
Align deliverables and engagements with expectations of leaders across Cardinal Health IT, communicate findings, and collaboratively remediate issues with a focus on automation
Team player and mentor that acts as the escalation point for technical/security issues from less experienced team members
Grow and foster relationships with Security Engineering peers, colleagues and partners across the Information Security Industry and represent Cardinal Health as a world class Information Security organization
Applies advanced knowledge and understanding of security concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to manage a wide variety of Applied Security projects
Participates in the development of policies and procedures to achieve Applied Security goals
Recommends new practices, processes, metrics, or models for the continuous verification and validation of security controls
Works on / leads complex projects of large scope that may have significant and long-term impact
Provides solutions which may set precedent
Independently determines method for completion of new projects
Acts as a mentor to less experienced colleagues
Qualifications
Development experience and skilled in Python is required
Strong technical background demonstrating in depth knowledge of Network, Cloud/Infrastructure, and Applications
Understanding of core security concepts.
Proven experience leading highly technical projects preferred.
Ability to develop in both Windows & Linux environments
Experience creating Splunk dashboards is preferred.
CI/CD pipeline knowledge is preferred
Anticipated salary range: $121,600 - $182,385
