As a DRAM Design Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for crafting and analyzing digital and analog circuits used in the development of memory products! We are engaged in developing groundbreaking silicon-to-systems solutions – right from technology development and advanced memory designs to product development, systems design and validation resulting in world class memory solutions!

Looking for those local or willing to fully relocate to Boise (preferred) or Richardson, TX.

You will be working in a Design Technology Co-Optimization group. Your work will entail close collaboration with product design teams, pathfinding design teams and technology teams, with the goal of guiding design and technology choices for the next DRAM nodes.

In this position, you will work within an R&D environment, enabling future ground breaking memory products. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Using information from existing DRAM designs identify key performance limiting circuits and build benchmarking circuits (schematic and/or layout) to be used for power, performance area (PPA) evaluations

  • Performing simulations on benchmarking circuits using various CMOS models, to understand behavior concerning PPA metrics.

  • Propose circuit-based solutions and/or technology-based solutions as appropriate, to ensure PPA goals are met

  • Communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams are required - technology development, product design, CAD, and modeling teams are partners in Design-Technology-Co-Optimization

  • Contributing innovation that matters to future memory generations within a dynamic work environment

How To Qualify:

  • Experience in DRAM, high-speed interfaces, analog and mixed-signal circuit designs

  • Extensive knowledge of schematic entry and simulation using Finesim and/or Hspice

  • Strong understanding of DRAM array core architectures, circuits, & functions

  • Extensive knowledge of CMOS circuit design and device physics

What Sets You Apart:

  • Knowledge of high-speed I/O design such as DLL / PLL / FFE / CTLE / DFE, output drivers, ODT, Duty cycle correction (DCC), Training/calibration

  • Deep understanding of PPA (performance, power, and area)

  • Good DFT/DFM understanding with knowledge of PROBE and Backend test flows

  • Strong scripting and automation skills using Tcl/Perl/python

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

  • A self-motivated, hard-working team player who enjoys working with diverse abilities and backgrounds

  • Good communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to other design peers in verbal and written form

  • Having an innovative approach that is open to improving upon any of our processes or products.
