The Facilities Electrical Manager at Micron is responsible for managing a team that maintains and operates the site electrical systems from medium voltage switch gear to branch panels, instrumentation, controls, and fire life safety systems that directly and indirectly support the TD fab, Boise campus and Treasury Valley. Maintains a safe work environment for internal/external labor resources. Manages systems to zero downtime due to the critical nature of semiconductor manufacturing. Site is built with all N+1 distribution and sag mitigation systems that need to be maintained to our corporate standards.

As the Facilities Electrical Manager, you will be supervising the team responsible for managing the various outsourced maintenance vendors and Micron Electrical Operations team. Responsible for tracking and improving operational metrics, driving automation and efficiency improvements, TPM and continuous improvement programs. Part of the campus is aging so is also responsible for managing an end-of-life program and prioritizing upgrades and securing funding. Owns the budget for the department.

Area Performance:

  • Coordinates the O&M of all electrical, instrumentation and fire systems

  • Coordinates compliance to related Micron's insurance underwriter equipment and systems requirements

  • Communicate with outside agencies

  • Provides continued maintenance to Micron systems based on manufacturing specifications and requirements

  • Ensures the proper installation and startup of new equipment including commissioning for projects

  • Works closely with customers to ensure daily maintenance and foreseeable equipment failures don’t affect production

  • Uses an advanced CMMS system to manage maintenance and equipment reliability, track labor utilization, and ensure PMs are completed on-time

  • Facilitates regular studies on redundancy, spare part needs, and PM effectiveness to increase reliability and reduce spend

  • Establishes standards and policies for servicing, troubleshooting, repairing, testing, operating, and inspecting Facilities systems and components

  • Monitors new construction projects, provides input on design and participates in the commissioning of new systems

  • Ensures new equipment is entered into the CMMS system

  • Ensures daily operations, rotations, maintenance activities, and foreseeable equipment failures don’t affect production

  • Understands department financial budgeting, forecasting, and expenditures to mitigate down time, improve efficiency and lower costs

  • Establishes a benchmarking program and implements industry best known practices

  • Identifies and implements new advanced systems, methods, and technologies

  • Develops long term strategies by monitoring mature processes and quantifying equipment “end of life” data for eventual replacement

  • Uses metrics to evaluate current and past performance for continuous improvement

  • Coordinates the review of near miss/impact events and drives resolution to long-term solutions

  • Coordinates the management of quality initiatives

  • Defines and requires a systematic project management methodology for initiating, planning, implementing and completing critical projects

  • Is responsible for cost estimates and maintains department budgets

  • Ensures area financial budgeting, forecasting, and expenditures for operations and projects are accurate

  • Works with purchasing and other sites to reduce cost and negotiate terms

  • Reviews area trends and data to determine expense budget and capital needs

  • Develops long term improvement strategies by monitoring area processes and systems

  • Makes disciplined decisions by gathering data and team feedback

  • Deploys and communicates new initiatives, goals and expectations through area

Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant field or equivalent education and 4 years of facilities experience

  • 4 years of leadership experience

  • Experience in semiconductor front end or backend manufacturing preferred
