Actalent Customer Service Specialist in Bolingbrook, Illinois

Manufacturing Customer Service Representative

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, interpreting and implementing their instructions for custom manufacturing products.

  • Update customer records and prepare and send quotes and written proposals to customers and potential clients.

  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and operations teams to exceed customer service expectations.

  • Resolve billing issues, process product exchanges, and manage order acknowledgments.

  • Track shipment status of customer orders.

  • Use creativity to design or explore desired products requested if outside the norm.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency with telephone, call center technology, and Microsoft Office suite.

  • Basic understanding of business math principles for job estimation.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).

  • Associates degree preferred.

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

  • Previous experience in sales, ideally selling custom manufactured products.

  • Computer literacy on company-supported programs.

  • Ability to read engineering drawings.

  • Knowledge of the company’s Quality Management System
