Brunswick Community College CE Director of Internal Auditing and Records in Bolivia, North Carolina

General Function

The Director of Internal Auditing and Records, coordinates and oversees the audit process and policies and procedures of all non-degree programs; workforce continuing education programs, self-supporting programs, and basic skills programs to remain in compliance with the Administrative Code and local policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilites
  • Ensures the accuracy of all information submitted to the North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS) follows the Administrative Code and updates released as numbered memorandums and keeps abreast of all NCCCS compliance procedures and updates.
  • Works collaboratively and closely with all directors and coordinators in Continuing Education and Workforce Development (CEWD), Student Services, OneStop, IT, and the Business Office to foster opportunities that support CEWD
  • Develops new local procedures to streamline and increase the effectiveness of day to day operations
  • Embraces the compliance review process by developing systems and best practices and is responsible for coordinating onsite NCCCS Compliance Reviews.
  • Assists Directors, as needed, to make sure continuing education procedures are followed and class paperwork is accurate for reporting.
  • Verifies the accuracy of course contracts, attendance rosters, reviews all end of course paperwork.
  • Provides biweekly Accountability and Creditability plan (Class Visitation) status updates to CE VP, Dean, and Directors/Coordinators and provides a final report at the end of each semester.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of the following reports - Fire Report (weekly), Institutions Class Report - ICR (each semester), Registration Data Report, and all other reports requested by the VP and/or Dean of CEWD
  • Provides training for CEWD staff on software (Datatel, FundFive) and internal processes
  • Collaborates with BCC Marketing and CEWD staff to advertise CEWD courses, including collecting information for the course catalog (per semester); ensuring accuracy of course information sheets, and maintain inventory for brochures.
  • Supervises the CE Office and Records staff
  • Responsible for analyzing data to support data driven decisions
  • Provides additional support to the department as assigned by the Dean of Continuing Education and Workforce Development
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate Degree in Business or related field
  • 3 or more years Community College experience
  • Detailed oriented
  • Willing to work additional hours when necessary to meet deadlines
  • Good communication skills, oral and written, strong computer skills, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access
  • Demonstrates the core value of helpfulness, ability to work in a team environment
Preferred Requirements
  • Bachelor Degree or higher in Business or related field
  • 4 to 5 years Community College experience
  • Datatel preferred experience
