The Doe Run Company is currently seeking a Surveying Technician to perform surveying and mapping duties in underground mine operations and surface work areas. This position is located at our Brushy Creek Mine in Boss, MO.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum 2 years of surveying experience
  • Valid drivers license

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Drafting (AutoCAD), and database (AS400)

  • Proficient in math, trigonometry preferred

Job Responsibilities:

  • Survey underground work areas and transfer data to AutoCAD maps.
  • Perform volumetric calculations of tons mined.
  • Perform bonus calculations.
  • Complete tasks in a safe and environmentally compliant manner by following EHS (environmental, health and safety) policies, procedures and best practices; support and assist peers in working in a safe, compliant manner; report unsafe acts or conditions, incidents, and deviations; and provide feedback to support continuous improvement in EHS performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Environmental Conditions, Physical and Lifting Requirements:

  • Regularly: computer/tablet, personnel carriers; Frequently required to use personnel carriers; Occasionally us phone/radios; Rarely required to work with powered or non-powered hand tools.
  • Regularly required to work underground; Frequently exposed to wet, humid conditions (non-weather), work in confined spaces; Occasionally required to work near moving mechanical parts; Rarely required to work in outdoor weather conditions, exposed to extreme heat or cold (non-weather), work at heights of 4 feet or more with fall protection. Exposed to moderate noise levels.
  • Frequently required to talk, hear, stand, walk, sit, and use repetitive wrist/finger movements; Occasionally required to feel the attributes of object, grasp, reach with hands/arms; Rarely required to push. Requires clarify of vision at 20 feet or more and 20 inches or less, must be able to identify and distinguish between colors, 3D vision, precise hand-eye coordination.
  • Regularly required to lift 15 pounds, Occasionally required to lift between 16 to 75 pounds; rarely required to lift 76-100 pounds.
