Tatte Bakery & Cafe AM Bakery Driver in Boston, Massachusetts

An AM Bakery Driver for Tatte's Boston Bakery understands, embraces, and embodies this purpose and plays an important role within our bakery and cafes. An AM Bakery Driver is responsible for transporting materials to our various sites and/or customers in a safe and timely manner. This person will be responsible for loading and delivering all products to other cafes. Our delivery trucks are 16 to 22 feet long with a lift gate, so previous experience is strongly preferred. Additionally, the driver will receive work-related assignments from the Bakery Logistics Manager and execute these assignments at our bakery in a safe and timely manner. A successful candidate must be detailed-oriented, has strong work ethic, a sense of urgency, a desire to continually learn and grow and is a team player with excellent communications skills and clean driving record.

Essential Functions:

  • Work with packing team to double check and pack orders into delivery vehicles

  • Follow delivery schedule so that baked goods are delivered from our facility in South Boston to our cafes and catering kitchens in downtown Boston, Cambridge, Brookline, Newton, Wellesley, Somerville, Arlington and Belmont in the established order

  • Communicate any delivery issues with our Bakery Logistics Manager

  • Maintain a positive, hospitality-driven attitude

Vehicle details:

  • Medium 16 to 22 foot truck with lift gate and reefer unit, automatic and regular class D license needed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1-year verifiable recent driving experience and a clean driving record.

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Able to grasp, reach overhead, push, lift, manipulate and carry up to 50 pounds

  • Desire to help where needed and work as part of a team.

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards 

Preferred Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills 

  • Sufficient interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all internal and external situations 

  • Availability to occasionally work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays as necessary.

  • Able to communicate in English, in both written and oral forms

  • Proficient data entry skills 

  • Strong organizational and follow up skills 

  • Basic comprehension of Microsoft Excel and Outlook
