Associate General Counsel - Marketing & Branding

Location: This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). The Ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of one of our Elevance Health PulsePoint locations.

The Associate General Counsel - Marketing & Branding will serve a key role on the Elevance Health Digital and Corporate Enterprise legal team providing strategic advice and counsel to the Chief Marketing Office and the Marketing and Public Relations leadership teams. This position will also play a pivotal role in supporting our digital modernization efforts, ensuring that our marketing and branding initiatives comply with all applicable laws and regulations, while also safeguarding our intellectual property and corporate reputation.

How you will make an impact:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and lead legal counsel to the Chief Marketing Office providing strategic legal advice to support business objectives and to ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, and guidelines.

  • Partner closely with various marketing teams, advising on traditional and digital marketing, press releases, and various communication efforts across a wide range of audiences, including members, provider, associates, and industry leaders

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in the appropriate use of Elevance Health’s various brands and legal entities in marketing efforts

  • Partner closely with compliance and other legal subject matter experts to ensure that marketing materials comply with federal and state healthcare laws, including Medicare or Medicaid-specific requirements, Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), or other regulatory requirements

  • Serve as a liaison and advisor for the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association relationshipregarding branding regulations, brand modernization, and InterPlan adherence with other Blues’ plans

  • Represent the legal department in marketing strategy meetings and provide input on brand initiatives.

  • Train and educate marketing teams on legal risks and compliance requirements.

  • Implement best practices and standardized procedures to facilitatetimely and thorough legal reviews, making adjustments as necessary to meet the evolving needs of the marketing organization.

  • Monitorindustry trends, regulatory and legal developments, and emerging risks related to healthcare marketing and branding.

Minimum *Requirements:  *

  • Requires a JD, current license to practice law, and a minimum of 9 years of specific industry and/or technical legal experience post licensure; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

  • Experience supporting marketing and branding in a highly complex, and regulated industry and company is preferred.

  • Proven ability to provide practical legal advice in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated experience in providing legal support and strategic advice to senior-level management.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to effectively present information to and advise senior management

  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.

For candidates working in person or remotely in the below location(s), the salary* range for this specific position is $189,796 to $297,072.
