TEKsystems Health Information Specialist Team Lead in Boston, Massachusetts
Description
The HIS Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Health Information Services department. This role involves managing a team, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations, and maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of patient health information.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Management: Lead and supervise the HIS team, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality service.
Compliance: Ensure all health information management practices comply with federal and state regulations, including HIPAA.
Data Integrity: Oversee the accuracy and completeness of patient health records, ensuring they are properly maintained and accessible.
Customer Service: Address inquiries and requests from patients, families, and healthcare providers regarding health information.
Training and Development: Provide training to staff on health information management practices and new technologies.
Quality Assurance: Conduct regular audits to ensure the accuracy and security of health information.
Vendor Management: Manage relationships with vendors such as Solarity and Concord Fax, including monthly client calls, identifying and resolving issues, and working with specialists as needed.
Error Resolution and Process Improvement: Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for error resolution, process flow enhancements, and throughput of scanning and indexing.
Experience:
3+ years of scanning and indexing experience.
EPIC experience.
Experience with automation and/or vendor management.
Supervisor experience preferred.
Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks.
Proficiency with medical information systems.
Thick skin and good customer service management skills to handle various problems effectively.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $33.00
