Are you looking for an excellent internship opportunity to work remote? We are looking for a candidate that is truly an engineer at heart, enjoys working on a team and likes to dig in and learn quickly. As a Software Intern, you will work on an Agile development team within Content domain, responsible for building, testing, and deploying data ingestion tools and components to support EBSCO products and services for our customers. As a member of an Agile development team, you will design and develop software in 2-week iterations as part of an Agile Release Train developing to a SAFe Program Increment. You will make commitments to the business and meet those commitments as a team. You will strive for continuous improvement in knowledge and productivity and display a pattern of continual learning and a desire to broaden your software development and design skills.
What You'll Do
As a Software Intern, an ideal candidate should be able to contribute to design and development as they grow familiar with the tech stack.
Application Development
Assist in developing and enhancing backend services using Java and Spring Boot, REST API
Utilize AWS services such as Event Bridge, Lambda, S3 to develop utilities to help resolve feature asks in Configuration Management.
Use GitHub for source code management, including branching, merging, pull requests, and issue tracking.
Contribute to the front end development and integration with backend services
Documentation
- Contribute to project documentation, including API specifications, deployment instructions, and troubleshooting guides.
Collaboration and Communication
Actively participate in team meetings and team chats, including daily stand-ups, iteration planning, and retrospectives.
Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, providing updates on progress and challenges.
Continuously learn and adapt to new tools, frameworks, and best practices in software development.
Work closely with senior developers to understand coding standards, agile processes, and project management techniques.
About You
Education & Experience
Must be enrolled in an educational or professional program through summer 2025 or later.
Understanding of Java, Javascript or any other object oriented programming language.
Understanding of concepts related to computer architecture, data structures and algorithms and design patterns/practices
Ability to Design and implement code using Functional and Object-Oriented JavaScript, CSS, HTML
Ability to Develop SaaS software using modular, reusable Java Script components and data visualizations

Pay Range
USD $22.00 - USD $26.00 /Hr.
The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, education, training, and experience, as well as the position’s work location.
