Position Purpose:

The job can be performed in a hybrid environment as per our policy in the office in any one of these cities: Boston (MA), Paramus (NJ), or Milwaukee (WI).

Reporting to the Sr Director Purchasing Operations, the Procurement Business Partner acts as primary liaison between Procurement and the assigned Business Unit(s) to drive incremental savings, enhance user discipline and improve compliance while maintaining/improving level of operational support.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Support the Corporate Procurement team mission by driving compliance to policies, preferred vendors, and procurement best practices through developing and maintaining strong relationships with assigned business units, understanding their unique requirements, challenges, and priorities.

  • Increase "spend under influence" by addressing purchase activities that are not in scope for Procurement's strategic sourcing team. This includes providing quick sourcing services for potentially all addressable categories of spend.

  • Facilitate local/regional communication with Procurement's strategic sourcing team in order to drive centralized procurement efforts (e.g. chemical RFPs, vehicle fleet and rental equipment, etc.).

  • Provide procurement-related services such as drafting / reviewing contracts and SOWs, whether directly or by connecting the right people in the organization with the BU; Examples may include subcontracting agreements for electrical services or generator maintenance

  • Provide support and training tailored to the BU's specific needs and organization around procurement related to VNA policies and procedures. The Business Partner plays the role of a change agent in the organization and guarantees that compliance to VNA policies and procedures is met.

  • Identify and consolidate procurement initiatives implemented at site / region / BU level that can generate extra savings and/or process efficiencies, and work as needed with other parties (including other BUs) and departments (such as Technical & Performance, IT, Finance) on implementation strategies.

  • Actively contributes to driving continuous improvement within the Purchasing Operations and more broadly the Procurement team. Examples may include suggesting changes in the way the Procurement team works together based on feedback gathered from the BUs.

  • Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

  • 5 years minimum of demonstrated experience in procurement / supply chain.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, policies, and best practices.

  • Very strong interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to analyze sometimes complex datasets.

  • Ability to navigate a complex environment (multi sites / multi stakeholders).

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Commitment to excellence.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Positive attitude and a team player.

  • Experience with Google and/or Microsoft suite with an emphasis on Excel or Sheets.

Physical Requirements:

  • The job can be performed in a hybrid environment as per our policy in the office (Boston, Paramus or Milwaukee).

  • Domestic travel is part of the job (approximately 25% of time).
