Robert Half Public Staff Tax Accountant in Boston, Massachusetts

Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Public Staff Tax Accountant in the professional services industry. This role is located in Boston, Massachusetts and includes a hybrid work model. As a Public Staff Tax Accountant, you will be tasked with various responsibilities revolving around tax compliance, account reconciliation, and partner account management.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare schedules for federal, state, and foreign tax compliance requirements, including estimated payments, extensions, and tax return workpapers.

• Assist in reconciling tax accounts and partner accounts in the general ledger in a timely manner.

• Prepare journal entries as needed to reconcile partner accounts and tax accounts in the general ledger.

• Process partner tax withholdings and credits.

• Utilize accounting software systems such as Workday to perform accounting functions.

• Ensure all tasks are in compliance with industry standards.

• Perform auditing tasks to ensure accuracy of financial statements.

• Assist in entity formation and related proceedings.

• Address and resolve customer inquiries regarding their accounts. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions

• Experience in Auditing processes

• Knowledge of Compliance regulations and practices

• Familiarity with Entity Formation procedures

• Ability to prepare and analyze Financial Statements

• Experience with Workday software

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and exercising discretion

• Ability to meet deadlines and manage stress effectively in high-pressure situations

• Familiarity with current trends and developments in the field of tax accounting.
